All mid-valley residents are welcome to sign up for one of the Act Alive sports activities by going online to www.samhealth.org/actalive.

Act Alive, in its fifth year, is an event to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes, and funds for diabetes services at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. The event will be held this year on July 4, in partnership with Lebanon’s Star-Spangled Celebration at Cheadle Lake. Read more »

Medical school lease signed; site preparation to begin

Pomona-based Western University of Health Sciences has signed a 20-year lease to operate a medical school in Lebanon, clearing the way for Samaritan Health Services to finalize financing and begin site preparation work this summer. Read more »

Good Samaritan receives orthopedic surgery residency approval

Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center has received approval of a new osteopathic orthopedic surgery training program for 10 residents from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Samaritan Regional Cancer Center program approved by the Commission on Cancer

The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has granted three-year approval with seven commendations to the cancer program at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Only one in four cancer programs at hospitals across the US receive this approval. Read more »
