Samaritan Welcomes Anne Christensen, MD

Anne Christensen, MD, has joined Samaritan Occupational Medicine as medical director. She sees patients at Samaritan Occupational Medicine – Albany, serving the health and safety needs of businesses in Albany and Linn County. 

Dr. Christensen earned a bachelor’s degree at Troy State University, a master’s degree at Harvard School of Public Health and a medical degree at University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed an internal medicine internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego and residency training at Harvard School of Public Health. 

Dr. Christensen began her medical career in the U.S. Navy, where she worked in operational, undersea and diving, occupational and environmental medicine and as a public health emergency officer.  

She has special interest in the psychological aspects of workplace wellness, as well as preventive medicine. 

“One of my favorite parts of occupation medicine is helping businesses and workers improve and maintain safe and healthy workplaces,” she said. 

Dr. Christensen grew up in Junction City. She has returned to her family’s farm after living overseas, in multiple states and most recently in the Washington, DC, area where she was the medical director at the Smithsonian.   

Away from the office, Dr. Christensen enjoys hiking, fishing, singing, cooking and spending time with family.
