Mario Pastega House Celebrates 20 Years of Community Service August 29, 2024 The Mario Pastega House, a beacon of support for families with loved ones receiving medical care, will commemorate its 20th anniversary with an open house on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The public is invited to tour the facility and see recent updates from a remodeling project in the original wing. These updates closely match the décor of the new Alma Pastega Wing constructed in 2022. The Mario and Alma Pastega Family Foundation donated $180,000 to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation for these improvements to the Mario Pastega House’s north wing. This generous gift paid for new flooring, lighting and furnishings of the 12 guest rooms. “This 20th anniversary is a testament to the enduring impact of the Pastega family’s vision. Every day, we see the difference this house makes in people’s lives,” said Sarha Settle, Pastega House manager. “It’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a community of support during challenging times.” Established in 2005, the Mario Pastega House has provided a home away from home for countless families during times of medical crisis. Named after local philanthropist Mario Pastega, the house has become an integral part of the community’s support system. Ken Pastega, son of the late Mario Pastega, will deliver remarks on the house’s journey and future. The open house will feature guided tours showcasing the comfortable accommodations and amenities provided to families. Following the tours, a cake reception will be held.
