In his medical practice, Dr. Sherman values time spent building relationships with patients and focusing on patient education. As a child growing up in a small North Carolina town, Dr. Sherman said he was inspired to become a physician by his own primary care doctor. He was impressed by how comfortable his doctor made him feel during medical visits, simply through his warm bedside manner. The doctor had a relaxed yet confident and competent demeanor, and through his compassionate care for patients, exemplified the profound and special impact a medical provider can have on others. This early mentorship set Dr. Sherman on his path to patient care. Now he most values his own ability to spend time educating patients, a skill learned from his formative experiences with the inspirational childhood physician. Away from the hospital, Dr. Sherman enjoys various outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, cycling, mountain biking, paddle boarding and trail running. He also enjoys playing Xbox with his younger brother in Texas. A drummer since the age of 10, Dr. Sherman was in a college band and would like to start playing music with others again.
