Sweet Home Family Medicine Receives Ultrasound Unit June 22, 2020 Providers in Sweet Home have been gifted a resource to expand care for their patients. The Obria Medical Clinic in Lebanon, formerly Pregnancy Alternatives Center, has generously donated a Midray M-5 portable ultrasound unit to Sweet Home Family Medicine. The $7,000 machine has an abdominal and a vaginal transducer. A transducer is a device that produces sound waves that bounce off body tissues and make echoes, which can determine the size, shape and consistency of soft tissues and organs. While most commonly known to aid in hearing a baby’s heartbeat or reveal the sex of a fetus, an ultrasound can also confirm positioning, fluid levels and some measurements. “I am so excited for the opportunity to help the Sweet Home clinic have more tools to better serve our communities,” said Hillary Tracy, nurse manager and director of operations at Obria Medical Clinic. “This unit will help us continue to provide necessary prenatal care to our Sweet Home population,” said Bridget Shariat, DO, obstetrician at Sweet Home Family Medicine. “Dr. Tessa Reff and I are beyond grateful for this partnership within our community and appreciate the gracious gift.” To make an appointment with Sweet Home Family Medicine, call 541-451-6250.
