Surgeon Joins After Completing Samaritan Residency Program August 30, 2019 Samaritan Albany Surgical Associates is pleased to welcome Peter “Andrew” Sweeny, DO. Dr. Sweeny completed residency training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Bryan College and a medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. “I am excited to stay with the Samaritan family,” said Dr. Sweeny. “Being able to stay connected with this community and remain in a health care system with a mission that fits my style of practice is special to me.” Keeping in mind the complexities of the body, Dr. Sweeny recognizes that each patient and their situation is unique and deciding if surgery is right often is dependent on many factors. “Understanding each situation and discussing the best options with patients and their families is critically important to me,” said Dr. Sweeny. “I’m fortunate to have experience navigating Samaritan’s health care system and can connect patients with the resources available in our community, whether that means surgery or not.” In his spare time, Dr. Sweeny enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the beautiful Oregon outdoors, summer baseball, gardening and good food. Dr. Sweeny is accepting new patients. For more information, call Samaritan Albany Surgical Associates at 541-812-4580.
