Samaritan Welcomes Ryan Ervin, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Ryan Ervin has joined Samaritan Waldport Clinic and Samaritan Depoe Bay Clinic. He specializes in treating anxiety and depression, as well as other life stressors and transitions.

Ervin earned a bachelor’s degree at Western Oregon University and a master’s degree in social work at Pacific University.

He chose his career because it provides an opportunity to help people in different stages of life and in a variety of circumstances.

“In this role, I am able to support people in their mental health journey, which can help them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives,” Ervin said.

Ervin appreciates learning and trying new things. During graduate school, he spent a month traveling Europe, staying in hostels.

“It was an amazing experience that still influences the way I see the world,” he said.

He was born and grew up near Portland and spent time during his childhood camping with his family on the Oregon Coast. He is excited to be a part of the community and work in an integrated primary care team.

“I recognize that physical and mental health go hand in hand,” he said.

He is married and has a cat and dog, both rescue animals. Away from the office, he enjoys outdoor activities, including fishing, hiking, crabbing and walking the beach looking for agates and fossils.

“I feel incredibly grateful to live on the Oregon Coast, which to me is one of the most beautiful parts of the world,” he said. “The time I spend outside is some of the best self-care I can find.”

He can be reached at Samaritan Waldport Clinic at 541-563-3197.
