Samaritan Welcomes Rebekah “Becky” Bird, MSN, FNP May 20, 2022 Play Video Family Nurse Practitioner Rebekah “Becky” Bird has joined Samaritan Internal Medicine – Corvallis. She provides primary care to adult patients, and she also is certified in clinical acupressure. Bird earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University and a master’s degree in nursing to become a family nurse practitioner at University of South Alabama. Previously, she worked as an acute care nurse at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and has taught acupressure for stress relief. “During that time, I developed a passion for preventive health as a way to empower patients to achieve optimal health through education and individual goal-based wellness plans,” Bird said. “We each write our own story and I feel passionate that a provider can serve as a partner, guide, teacher and friend on our journey to joy and health.” As a frontline health care worker, Bird felt supported by Samaritan during the pandemic, and said she is honored to become a family nurse practitioner with the organization. “These were not easy times,” she said. “Samaritan has been part of my family through thick and thin.” Bird believes that good health comes with life balance. She is married and has children. “I wouldn’t know what it was like to have a weekend without soccer, dance, gymnastics or some type of kiddo shenanigans,” she said. In her free time, she enjoys sharing meals and spending time with family and friends, cheering for the Beavers and playing music in a local band. “There is nothing better than band practice to release the stress of the day,” she said. She is accepting new patients and can be reached at Samaritan Internal Medicine – Corvallis at 541-768-5140.
