Samaritan Welcomes Natalie Pexton, MD, MPH December 15, 2022 Play Video Natalie Pexton, MD, MPH, has joined Mid-Valley Children’s Clinic. She provides a full range of health care to children from birth through age 18. Dr. Pexton earned a bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College and graduate degrees at Loyola University, Chicago and Oregon Health & Science University. She earned a medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine and completed residency training at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. After college, she worked in a pediatric HIV clinic and on other public health projects in Tanzania and Ecuador. Those experiences taught her the importance of knowing the community, resources and priorities of patients and their families and how it can be used to improve medicine. It also informed her approach to patient care. “Many medical conditions don’t have one perfect treatment,” Dr. Pexton said. “My goal is to explore different treatment options with families and find the best choice based on their lifestyle and priorities.” She chose pediatrics because it met her interest in teaching and learning. “I am constantly learning new things and teaching what I know to children and their families to keep them healthy,” she said. Dr. Pexton chose Samaritan because she wanted to practice full spectrum medicine, seeing patients both in the clinic and at the hospital. “Mid-Valley Children’s Clinic has the highest standards for the care of their patients,” she said. “I was impressed with how the clinicians work so well together.” In her free time, Dr. Pexton enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and rock climbing. She is originally from Oregon and has extended family nearby. “We all love getting together to play board games and go hiking,” she said. Dr. Pexton is accepting new patients and can be reached at Mid-Valley Children’s Clinic at 541-812-5111.
