Samaritan Welcomes Cheryl Shannon, FNP March 7, 2023 Play Video Family Nurse Practitioner Cheryl Shannon has joined Samaritan Surgical Specialists in Corvallis. She specializes in vascular surgery and general surgery. Shannon earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Governors University and a master’s degree at University of South Alabama. She first worked at Samaritan as a nurse, then pursued additional educational opportunities to become a family and adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. “It was a natural progression for my career and educational goals,” Shannon said. She chose her specialty after her nephew was injured in a motorcycle accident. “He almost lost his leg,” she said. “Since then, I became intrigued with vascular medicine.” Her approach is to provide individualized care for each patient. “I want to make sure that their needs are met,” Shannon said. Away from the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and family. “I like to scuba dive, hike and bike,” Shannon said. “We do lots of outdoor activities together.” She is accepting new patients and referrals and can be reached at Samaritan Surgical Specialists at 541-768-5930.
