Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Supports Cancer Patients November 11, 2021 Law enforcement officers often find themselves in hairy situations through the course of their work. During No-Shave November things will get even more hairy for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) when they throw down the razor or grab a bottle of crazy-color hair dye in defiance of the office’s standard grooming requirements – all to benefit local cancer patients. The goal of national No-Shave November is to “grow” cancer awareness by embracing one’s hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Participating LCSO personnel will donate toward one of the cancer funds supported by the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation. Those who donate at least $50 toward the effort are entitled to remain unshaven or keep their colored hair until the end of December. As an extra incentive, the LCSO jail and patrol divisions are competing for the privilege to keep their beards (or colored hair) for an additional month, until the end of January, based on total donations.
