Heart to Heart Fall/Winter 2024

This issue of Samaritan Health Services’ Heart to Heart magazine features a Corvallis couple’s story of faith, support and celebration as they each navigated the intricacies of a cancer diagnosis. Part of their journey includes attending Samaritan’s annual National Cancer Survivors Day events, along with other cancer survivors from throughout Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties. A Monmouth woman trusted her gut to actively seek a diagnosis for her condition, which turned out to be colon cancer. She reminds readers to self-advocate when something feels “off” with your body. Screenings and early detection are keys to life-saving treatment.

Other stories of interest include one about the new gynecologic cancer service now offered by top-notch gynecologic oncologists. Read about these specialty physicians as well as several other health care providers new to Samaritan who are now seeing patients throughout our region.
