Whether you are a new nurse graduate transitioning into practice or exploring how to start a career in health career as an apprentice, Samaritan Health Services has several programs to offer and participates in a variety of programs with educational institutions.
Our New Nurse Graduate Transition to Practice Program allows registered nurses a chance to fine tune skills from nursing school while receiving competitive nursing wages and comprehensive benefits. The program offers focused, multidisciplinary classroom training, as well as a customized preceptor clinical experience. Both the didactic and clinical components emphasize the transition skills and knowledge base you will need to bridge the gap between school and workplace. Candidates apply to and orient in a specific health care setting such as ambulatory, critical care, emergency, med-surg, perioperative and perinatal.
Samaritan Health Services participates in a variety of apprenticeship programs, offering a true “earn and learn” pathway to employment for individuals.

We greatly value the work ethic, discipline and commitment to teamwork that veterans bring. Samaritan Health Services became the first health system on the West Coast to sign a contract with the Army Partnership for Youth Success program (PaYS). PaYS connects military personnel with potential job openings just before their enlistment ends. Samaritan also provides training and support to veterans who may face challenges while transitioning back into a civilian workplace.
Veterans embody core values, just like Samaritans, while serving our country and can use their military skills and training to contribute to our mission of building healthier communities together.
Samaritan Health Services has received national recognition for its commitment to veterans as a Military Friendly Employer, including being among U.S. Veterans Magazine’s Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Companies.
