Samaritan Welcomes Eleanor Wiggins, MD January 25, 2023 Play Video Eleanor Wiggins, MD, has joined Samaritan Family Medicine Resident Clinic – Lebanon. She provides primary care for people of all ages, and cares for hospitalized patients at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. Dr. Wiggins earned a bachelor’s degree at Millsaps College and a medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. She completed residency training at Cascade East Family Practice-OHSU. Dr. Wiggins chose family medicine because she likes taking care of the whole person and she didn’t want to exclude any group of patients. “I get to take care of little babies and grown adults, all the way to the end of life,” Dr. Wiggins said. “That’s really important to me.” Dr. Wiggins listens to where her patients are and where they’re coming from to better understand what is going on in their life. She has special interest in aiding with mental health. Many members of her family work in the medical field, and her mom and sister both were physical therapists at Samaritan. “Even though I am not from this community, it felt like coming home to work here,” she said. Away from the office, she enjoys walking her dogs with her husband, doing craft projects and refinishing furniture.
