Samaritan Employees Create Community December 28, 2022 Samaritan employees are finding new ways to betheir authentic selves, show up fully, find supportand engage at work. Newly formed employee resource groups promote andincrease awareness of diversity, equity and inclusionwithin Samaritan. Based on results from employee surveysand forums set forth in Samaritan’s Equity & InclusionPlan, groups coalesced around four areas of shared interest, including employees of color, disability, LGBTQ andveterans. Other interests are also being explored forpossible additional groups. The groups are open to all employees and provideopportunities for networking, as well as personal andprofessional growth. So far, each group has chosen to usea shared leadership model. While they just started, leadershope that by centering voices that are not always heard, theycan bring about positive change. One of the first outreach activities for the LGBTQ resourcegroup for employees and allies was participating in FamilyDay activities in Lebanon as part of Pride Month in June. Erin Crain, a digital marketing specialist who has worked atSamaritan for three years, is one of the co‑leaders for thePride Alliance group.
