Samaritan Welcomes Psychologist Michael Boggess, PhD February 9, 2022 Play Video Psychologist Michael Boggess, PhD, has joined Samaritan Mental Health – Circle Blvd. He specializes in child and adolescent assessments, ADHD, learning concerns and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Boggess earned a bachelor’s degree at Western Oregon University and a doctorate in counseling psychology at Washington State University. He completed an internship at Southeast Human Service Center and residency training at Northwest ADHD Treatment Center. Dr. Boggess takes an individualized and collaborative approach to diagnose and recommend treatments best suited for each patient’s unique background and needs. “I strive to genuinely understand and support the people around me through reflective listening, showing genuine interest and validation,” he said. “Empathy is a bridge that connects us.” Dr. Boggess has a passion for positive psychology with interest in flourishing, living well and resilience. He believes that assessment is the first step towards empowering his patients to pursue their goals and to live their best lives. “I am working to increase access and decrease stigmatization toward mental health services,” he said. He chose Samaritan because the mission – building healthier communities together – and values – passion, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence – are a part of his professional identity. “The Pacific Northwest is my home,” Dr. Boggess said. “I am excited to apply my knowledge and experiences to serving the community in a state that I love.” Dr. Boggess is married and has a variety of pets and plants he considers part of the family. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, art, nature photography and archery.
