Samaritan Welcomes Cardiologist Ashwat Dhillon, MD July 29, 2021 Play Video Ashwat Dhillon, MD, has joined the Cardiology Department at Samaritan Heart Center. Dr. Dhillon earned a medical degree at Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College. He completed a research fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, residency training at Cleveland Clinic’s Fairview Hospital, and further fellowships at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, as well as Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Dr. Dhillon grew up in a small town in northern India. Both his parents were surgeons and he admired how they went above and beyond to make sure their patients got the best care possible. The family would talk over dinner about the day’s happenings in the hospital. “I remember wanting nothing more than to be part of this team,” he said. “My parents played a huge role in motivating me to work hard and to strive for excellence.” As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Dhillon places stents for narrowed arteries and heart attacks. He specializes in transcatheter aortic valve replacement, a minimally invasive technique to implant a new aortic valve. He also performs minimally invasive mitral valve repair and atrial septum closures. He said he chose Samaritan because he was impressed with the cardiac care team. “They are genuinely nice people who are committed to their community and dedicated to providing cutting-edge care to patients,” he said. He can be reached by calling Samaritan Heart Center at 541-768-5205. Samaritan Heart Center provides a wide range of advanced cardiology and cardiac surgery services. Our affiliation with Stanford Health Care provides access to even more life-saving cardiac procedures for local patients. For more information, visit samhealth.org/Heart.
