Samaritan Welcomes Internist Adam Knutson, DO

Adam Knutson, DO, has joined Samaritan Medical Clinics – North Albany. Dr. Knutson provides primary care to adult patients. He has special interest in lifestyle modification and custom dietary approaches.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University and a medical degree at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences. He completed residency training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Knutson grew up in Oregon, attending Forest Grove High School. He joined the Army as a medic and served four years in the honor guard, performing military funeral honors. He became a physician to serve people and to challenge himself.

“I heard the stories of so many amazing people. I felt called to be a part of those stories in real time,” he said. “Medicine fit the bill.”

Dr. Knutson has served in the Oregon National Guard for more than 20 years and is part of the Oregon Medical Command in Salem.

He chose Samaritan because he did his training here and was impressed with the emphasis on evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making, a model of patient-centered care that enables and encourages people to play a role in the medical decisions that affect their health.

“Samaritan is dedicated to my community,” he said. “I wanted to be part of that.”

In his free time, he enjoys gatherings with friends and family, hiking, yard games, sporting events and traveling.

Dr. Knutson is accepting new patients and can be reached at 541-812-5700.
