New Nurse Graduate Transition to Practice Program

Continue Your Nursing Journey

Samaritan’s New Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Program provides registered nurses with a transition between nursing school and independent patient care. It gives new graduate nurses an opportunity to fine tune skills while receiving competitive nursing wages and comprehensive benefits. The program offers focused, multidisciplinary classroom training, as well as a customized preceptor clinical experience. Both the didactic and clinical components emphasize the transition skills and knowledge base you will need to bridge the gap between school and workplace. Candidates apply to and orient in a specific health care setting such as ambulatory care, critical care, emergency, med-surg, perioperative and perinatal.

While completing the program, you will be paid nursing wages and may receive comprehensive benefits. All along the way, you will have the support and guidance of highly trained, caring professionals.

The program is six-months and is structured to support newly licensed registered nurses transition into their first role in an acute care setting as a professional nurse.
