Samaritan Welcomes Pulmonologist James Knight, MD

James Knight, MD, has joined Samaritan Health Services. Dr. Knight is a pulmonologist at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and also sees patients with respiratory conditions at Samaritan Medical Group Pulmonology – Corvallis.

Dr. Knight earned a bachelor’s degree at University of Louisiana Monroe and a medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at University of Louisville School of Medicine and a fellowship at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

A desire to help other people in an impactful way motivated him to become a doctor.

“I like the challenge of critical care, having more contact with patients and helping people to get better,” he said.

Dr. Knight specializes in bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing interpretation and methacholine challenge testing interpretation. His approach to patient care is focused and detailed.

“I look at the whole picture and treat the patient accordingly,” he said.

Dr. Knight chose Samaritan because he was looking to relocate to the Pacific Northwest.

“I’m a big fan of outdoor activities,” he said. “I also like the community and the team I am joining at Samaritan.”

In his free time, Dr. Knight enjoys spending time in nature, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and hiking with his dog.
