Samaritan Welcomes Psychiatrist Richard Jones, DO March 7, 2022 Richard Jones, DO, has joined Samaritan Mental Health – Albany. Dr. Jones completed a bachelor’s degree at University of Kentucky and a medical degree at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed residency training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Dr. Jones was motivated to become a psychiatrist after helping a family member through a mental health crisis. He uses a collaborative approach to patient care based on mutual respect. “I usually present several options to my patients and let them choose what would fit best,” Dr. Jones said. “I want my patients to be motivated to be part of their treatment.” He chose Samaritan after completing his residency here. “I really appreciate the culture and thoughtfulness regarding caring for the community and caring for one another,” he said. “It didn’t feel like anywhere else fit me as well as here.” In his free time, Dr. Jones enjoys hiking and spending time with family.
