Samaritan Welcomes OB/GYN Jennifer Brewer, MD, FACOG January 26, 2022 Jennifer Brewer, MD, FACOG, has joined Samaritan Obstetrics & Gynecology – Corvallis. Dr. Brewer provides general obstetric and gynecological care. She earned a bachelor’s degree at University of California, Irvine and a medical degree at Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Medicine. She completed residency training at Valleywise Health Medical Center (formerly Maricopa Integrated Health Systems). Dr. Brewer specializes in comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care and has special interest in mental health, contraception, infertility, painful menses and other menstrual issues. “It is a joy and a privilege to see women throughout their lifetime and tend to their social, medical and emotional needs,” she said. Being a physician combines Dr. Brewer’s passion for science with her love for teaching. “I get to apply evidence-based solutions while educating women about their health,” she said. She heard about Samaritan from other clinicians who appreciate the respect and attention shown to medical staff and employees. “I wanted to be a part of an organized, disciplined and caring system,” she said. Attending medical school in Portland sparked her love for the Pacific Northwest. Her husband grew up in Scotts Mills. “We always knew we would settle back in a semi-rural part of Oregon,” she said. Dr. Brewer values spending time with people. “During the past few trying years, I have come to realize that I enjoy being present in the moment, especially with my family,” she said. In her free time, Dr. Brewer enjoys taking her children on hikes, playing outside, writing and creating. “I am learning how to cook and sew. Both are proving to be very therapeutic,” she said.
