Samaritan Welcomes Nurse Practitioner Carey Belcher March 11, 2021 Carey Belcher, FNP, has joined Samaritan Palliative Care, a multidisciplinary team that supports patients with serious illness. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Bradley University and a master’s degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. A physician mentor encouraged Belcher to pursue becoming a nurse practitioner. “I wanted to bring my nursing experience to a role as a provider within the specialties I love,” Belcher said. She values care, compassion and honest communication. “I believe that by connecting with people where they are, we are able to make a better impact,” Belcher said. Belcher was impressed with Samaritan’s commitment to patients. She lived in the Midwest her entire life but has been visiting the Pacific Northwest since she was a child. “My sourdough starter traveled here from Indiana, and I’m eager to begin baking again,” she said.
