Samaritan Welcomes Matthew Rafus, PA-C

Matthew Rafus, PA-C, has joined Samaritan Medical Group Orthopedics – Corvallis. He assists with orthopedic surgery and orthopedic oncology.

He earned a bachelor’s degree at Castleton University and a master’s in physician assistant studies at Westfield State University.

Before becoming a physician assistant, he worked as an EMT.

“I realized that I wanted to provide a higher level of care to my community and be able to create positive experiences for people who need health care,” he said. 

He chose Samaritan because it aligns with his values and goals as a provider. 

“A positive health care environment creates a better place for patients and better outcomes,” he said. 

Rafus and his fiancé moved to Oregon to be near family. They have a dog, Cooper.

“In our free time, we enjoy hiking and exploring, finding a good swimming hole and soaking in the sun,” he said.
