Samaritan Welcomes Jenny Stegeman-Olsen, MD August 9, 2023 Play Video Jenny Stegeman-Olsen, MD, has joined Samaritan Medical Group Family Medicine – 26th Street. She provides primary care for people of all ages. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Oregon State University and a medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University. She completed residency training at Lincoln Medical Education Foundation. In high school, she enjoyed anatomy and physiology, particularly genetics, which led her to study microbiology. After college, she decided to combine her love of science with getting to work with people as a physician. “I was excited for the challenge and feel that it has been a great fit,” Dr. Stegeman-Olsen said. She values kindness and strives to treat her patients the way she wants her family to be treated. She has special interest in preventive health and patient education. Dr. Stegeman-Olsen uses a collaborative approach to care, meeting her patients where they are at on their health care journey. “I want to help my patients learn about their health,” she said. “My hope is to work together in finding solutions specific to their needs.” She first moved to Corvallis for college where she met her husband. “We loved it here so much that we planned to return after my residency,” she said. “We have been fortunate to have lived in Corvallis since 2000. We are now enjoying the good life of empty nesters with both of our children away in college.” In her free time, Dr. Stegeman-Olsen enjoys spending time with her family and being in nature. “Being outdoors is renewing to me, whether it is gardening, kayaking, hiking, skiing or running the trails in our local forests,” she said.
