Samaritan Welcomes Family Physician Jesse Heuer, DO April 8, 2021 Jesse Heuer, DO, has joined Samaritan Family Medicine – Geary Street. He provides primary health care to patients of all ages. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Utica College and a medical degree at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed residency training at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Dr. Heuer’s interest in medicine was seeded early in life. “I watched multiple family members with chronic medical conditions benefit from the efforts of their health care providers,” he recalled. In high school and college, he volunteered at medical centers. When it came time to choose a specialty, he followed his interests. “My desire to have longer-term relationships with patients led me to choose family medicine,” he said. In his professional life, Dr. Heuer values patient safety, care quality and compassion. He chose Samaritan because of the network of specialists and the technology and resources to coordinate patient care. After practicing in Minnesota since 2009, he is excited by what Oregon has to offer. “I especially enjoy hiking and kayaking,” he said. “I am also looking forward to a more temperate winter climate and being near the mountains, the coast and Portland.” In his free time, he reads, cooks, listens to music, watches movies and spends time with family. Dr. Heuer is accepting new patients and can be reached by calling Samaritan Family Medicine – Geary Street at 541-812-5570.
