Samaritan Welcomes Elizabeth Bouressa, MD August 30, 2023 Play Video Pediatrician Elizabeth Bouressa, MD, has joined Mid-Valley Children’s Clinic in Albany. She provides a full range of health care to children from birth through age 18. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Saint Mary’s College and a medical degree at Creighton University – School of Medicine. She completed residency training at University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Bouressa’s grandfather was a pediatrician and a special person in her life. “I saw what a positive impact he made in the community through his kind and supportive nature,” she said. She chose to become a doctor because she enjoys learning new things. “In medicine, there is always something new and fascinating to learn and share,” she said. “I am most fulfilled providing direct service by helping other human beings face-to-face. Using the knowledge and skills I have to help them be healthy is time well spent.” Dr. Bouressa values personal connections. She approaches her job with humility and empathy. “I want children, teenagers and parents to feel completely at ease discussing anything about their health,” she said. “My goal is to share information, help others understand health issues and illness and form a partnership to find the right care together.” Dr. Bouressa has a special interest and training in child abuse and neglect. She wanted to work for a non-profit organization and was impressed by Samaritan’s mission of Building Healthier Communities Together. “This really matters to me, especially in current times when assessing medical care can be difficult and stressful,” she said. Working in a pediatric group that provides continuity from clinic visits to the hospital is also important to her. She said Mid-Valley Children’s Clinic’s excellent reputation, community trust and regard are well-earned. “The clinicians work so well together. They collaborate on best practices and are able to give their patients the time that is essential to good medicine,” she said. “I feel privileged to be a part of this community treasure.” Dr. Bouressa grew up in Spokane, Washington and has lived in the Willamette Valley for 27 years. She has three teenage children. “They encourage me to try new things, like rock climbing,” she said. “We also cook together.” In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, running, skiing, hiking, gardening and reading.
