Samaritan Welcomes Amber Subialdea, NP

Amber Subialdea, NP, has joined Samaritan Women’s Health – Newport. She provides general obstetric and gynecological care. 

She earned a bachelor’s degree at Texas Women’s University and a master’s degree at Frontier Nursing University.

Subialdea was inspired to work in women’s health by her experiences as a patient. 

“I know what it feels like to be really empowered, given information and allowed to be part of the process instead of just showing up and having health care happen to me,” she said.

Her approach to care is to be a partner with her patients. 

“Nobody can know a body more than the person who lives in it every day,” Subialdea said. “I’m not an expert on anyone else’s body. But I do have a lot of information. Working together, we can address concerns and come up with a plan of care that feels right to them.”

She first worked for Samaritan Health Services as a labor and delivery nurse at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, before continuing her education to become a nurse practitioner. 

“It fueled my passion to serve the people of our community in an expanded role,” she said. “I wanted to continue being part of the amazing team at Samaritan that I’ve come to know so well.”

Away from the office, she enjoys doing fiber arts and spending time with friends, family and her unconventional pets.

“We have reptiles and tarantulas, as well as the usual cats and dogs,” she said. 

She also likes relaxing outside. 

“One of my favorite things is to take a nap in the hammock,” she said.
