Samaritan Welcomes Aditi Madabhushi, MD April 22, 2022 Aditi Madabhushi, MD, has joined Samaritan Surgical Specialists as Medical Director for Vascular Services. She specializes in vascular surgery and general surgery. Dr. Madabhushi earned a medical degree at Lokmanya Tilak Memorial Medical College. She completed residency training at Temple University Hospital and a fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Madabhushi has several family members who were physicians and she always wanted to become a surgeon. “Being a clinician is truly a gift. It brings you a sense of fulfillment unlike very few professions,” she said. She chose to specialize in vascular surgery because of her experiences during residency. “I had a lot of great mentors who were incredible physicians who were technically brilliant, and they inspired me,” she said. “I grew to love vascular surgery even more in my training.” Dr. Madabhushi enjoys the challenge of the complex and ever-changing field of vascular surgery and how it is being used in new ways to treat diseases that affect the whole body. She was recruited by Samaritan to help develop a new vascular surgery program. “With my expertise and training, I hope to bring these treatments to the Corvallis community,” Dr. Madabhushi said. “It is extremely exciting to me to be able to build something from the ground up.” As a surgeon, the patient-physician relationship carries a great responsibility for Dr. Madabhushi. She informs and involves her patients in discussions about their care. “Patients are at their most vulnerable when they come to us,” she said. “They are trusting us with performing a procedure and operating. I take that very seriously. Patient care is about establishing a relationship of trust, which is first and foremost.” She is looking forward to exploring Oregon with her partner. “We love being outdoors in the mountains,” she said. In her free time, Dr. Madabhushi enjoys reading, traveling, working out, and the outdoors.
