Samaritan to Recognize Cancer Survivors & Loved Ones at Events on June 2

The Samaritan Cancer Program will host a National Cancer Survivors Day celebration to honor cancer survivors and their loved ones on Sunday, June 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. Two events will be held, one in Corvallis and one in Newport.

On this day around the globe, people living with a history of cancer come together to connect, celebrate milestones and recognize those who have supported them along the way.

Both events are free to all. Guests will enjoy good food, art activities, conversing with community cancer resources and providers, talks from Samaritan’s cancer care team and fellow cancer survivors, plus more. 

Corvallis: The LaSells Stewart Center on the campus of Oregon State University
(875 SW 26th St.)

Newport: Center for Health Education across from Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital
(740 SW 9th St.)

Sunday, June 2, 1 to 3 p.m.

  • 1 p.m. — Doors open. Enjoy good food, company and more.
  • 1:45 p.m. — Talks from the cancer care team and survivors.
  • 2:15 p.m. — Explore community cancer resources.
  • 3 p.m. — Program concludes.
