Samaritan-MultiCare Affiliation Process Moves Forward August 5, 2026 The Oregon Health Authority’s Health Care Market Oversight review of the proposed affiliation between Samaritan Health Services and MultiCare Health System continues. OHA has indicated that it expects to complete its preliminary review and issue a determination by August 24. At that point, OHA may approve the affiliation, approve it with conditions, or initiate a comprehensive review. “Samaritan understands the important role the HCMO process plays in evaluating how proposed health care transactions will affect patients, communities and the state,” said Marty Cahill, President and CEO of Samaritan Health Services. “We have responded to every request for information and remain fully engaged with OHA as the review moves toward completion.” Samaritan is confident in the application and believes this affiliation represents a win for the people and communities of Benton, Lincoln, and Linn counties – and a win for Oregon. “It will strengthen the long-term sustainability of health care in our region while advancing the state’s priorities for accessible, affordable and high-quality care, supporting the health care workforce, and helping ensure essential services remain available in the communities we serve,” said Cahill.
