Samaritan Medical Group Welcomes New COO January 25, 2023 Julie Osgood, MS, DrPH, has joined Samaritan Medical Group as chief operating officer. In this role, Osgood will collaborate with leaders across Samaritan to ensure efficient and effective operations of the medical group. She will help lead the work of Samaritan health care providers at more than 100 clinics and hospital departments as they strive to deliver top-quality health care to patients of Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties. “I felt an immediate connection to Samaritan’s mission and values,” said Osgood. “The team was not only warm and welcoming, but obviously extremely talented. I am honored for the opportunity to serve this community.” She comes to Samaritan most recently from University of Washington Medicine Valley Medical Center where she served as vice president of the clinic network. There, she was responsible for operations, quality and performance improvement, patient safety and population health. Previously, she spent 19 years at a large integrated health care system, MaineHealth, overseeing population health programs to help improve care and patient outcomes in Maine and New Hampshire. Osgood holds a master’s degree in health policy and management from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine and a doctorate in public health leadership from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. “We’re looking forward to working with Julie and the fresh perspective she will bring from her work as a health care leader in different regions of the country,” said Samaritan’s Chief Physician Executive Robert Turngren, MD. “Her collaborative leadership style and focus on evidence-based best practices is sure to complement our work as we strive to expand access to care.” In her free time, Osgood enjoys cycling, hiking, skiing and kayaking with her husband, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
