Samaritan Infectious Disease Physician Honored January 5, 2023 Adam Brady, MD, of Samaritan Infectious Disease – Corvallis, has been named a fellow by the Infectious Diseases Society of America. This fellowship recognizes distinguished physicians and scientists from the United States and around the world who have achieved professional excellence and provided significant service to the profession. “There has never been a more pivotal and important time for the field of infectious diseases,” said the society’s president, Daniel P. McQuillen, MD. “These physicians and scientists are on the front lines of research and clinical care and represent the passion and commitment needed to educate and protect us from dangerous illness. We all benefit as a result of their vital contributions and expertise.” Dr. Brady served tirelessly for almost three years as the chair of Samaritan Health Services’ coronavirus task force and offered up his time and expertise to educate Samaritan staff and the community about preventing infection and caring for patients with COVID-19. In addition to caring for patients at Samaritan Infectious Disease, he helps Samaritan coordinate responses to seasonal influenza and COVID-19 while monitoring and helping the organization prepare for emerging threats to public health, such as mpox and Ebola viruses. He has particular interest in the prevention and treatment of hepatitis C. “I was very excited and honored to receive this fellowship, which shows my ongoing dedication to and passion for the field of infectious disease,” said Dr. Brady.
