Learn About Opioids, Overdose & Outreach at Information Session November 13, 2024 NOTE: This session has been postponed to Thursday, Feb. 20, at noon. Substance use disorder, often involving fentanyl, oxycodone, heroin, methamphetamines and alcohol, has had a devastating impact on lives across the country including here in Lincoln County. To educate and help residents, Samaritan Health Services and Lincoln County Public Health are hosting a free information session, Opioids, Overdose & Outreach. It will take place on Thursday, Dec. 5, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Center for Health Education in Newport. Jesse Noble, Regional Overdose Prevention coordinator with Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties, and Shelli Alinari, with Samaritan Treatment & Recovery Services, will cover the following topics: Overview of opioids. Recognizing and responding to an opioid overdose. Fentanyl, xylazine and polysubstance use. Narcan/naloxone training and distribution. Community resources and support services. Update on the Samaritan Treatment & Recovery Services center opening in Lincoln County in 2025.
