Monica Thukral, NP, Joins Samaritan

Samaritan Heart Center welcomes certified nurse practitioner Monica Thukral. She treats cardiology patients with issues ranging from coronary artery disease to heart failure and rhythm issues. She is accepting new patients.

Thukral earned a bachelor’s degree at University of California, San Diego; a master’s in public health with an emphasis on epidemiology at UCLA; a bachelor of science in nursing at Johns Hopkins University; and a master of science in nursing at Stony Brook University. She is board certified in adult-gerontological nursing.

Thukral seeks to build a trusting relationship with her patients. She uses her background in public health to teach people about their conditions, as well as how to be proactive in maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent further complications.

“I enjoy spending time with my patients to make sure they fully understand their conditions and treatment plans,” she said.

In her free time, Thukral enjoys cooking, hiking and being outdoors, as well as spending time with her husband, dog and cat.

After living on the East Coast where she worked at an outpatient rehabilitation center, she was excited to return to the West Coast to be near family.

“I am looking forward to enjoying all the wonderful outdoorsy things Oregon has to offer,” she said.

Samaritan Heart Center provides a wide range of advanced cardiology, electrophysiology and cardiac surgery services, with clinics in Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Lincoln City and Newport. The program also serves patients from Eugene, Salem and neighboring areas. For more information, call 888-263-6092.
