Lebanon Hospital’s New Echocardiogram Machine Enhances Cardiac Care

In early February, Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital installed a new echocardiogram machine that will expand cardiac imaging capabilities for patients in east Linn County. Hospital leaders, Imaging team members and board members from the Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation gathered to celebrate the donor-funded investment.

Peter Muna, regional director of Imaging Services, contacted the Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation last fall to request support for a replacement echo machine as it was nearing the end of its service life. The Foundation funded the full cost of the new device, totaling $170,575. It is the most expensive single piece of equipment the Foundation has funded in its 27-year history.

The updated system provides consistent image quality and expands capabilities for identifying possible blockages and advanced heart disease. It is the most current cardiac evaluation technology in use statewide and nationally.

“Patients are who we are here to serve,” said Brandy O’Bannon, executive director of Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation. “When we learned last fall of the imaging equipment need, our board acted quickly. Because of generous donor support, we were able to cover 100 percent of the cost from our Greatest Need Fund. Local patients deserve timely cardiac care close to home, and our donors made that possible.”

Muna expressed appreciation for the Foundation’s long-standing support. “Our team is grateful for the partnership that has advanced imaging technology for many years. Our patients deserve the best quality care available, and we thank donors for making this possible.”
