Learn Heartsaver CPR & AED August 27, 2024 The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED course will be taught at the Samaritan Center for Health Education on Friday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The class provides important knowledge and skills needed to recognize, respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Knowledge and skills covered in this course include: Recognition of cardiac and respiratory arrest in an adult, child or infant. How to do chest compressions and give breaths to people in cardiac or respiratory arrest. How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Choking relief in adults, children and infants. AHA Heartsaver courses are designed for people with little or no medical training. This is not a BLS class for health care professionals. Upon successful completion, you will receive a course completion card that is valid for two years. Class fee of $53 includes the book and two-year certification.
