These local retail pharmacies serve the public offering access to medications, health advice and more. With Samaritan’s pharmacies being a part of the larger Samaritan Health Services system, a frequent question our pharmacists hear is: who can use Samaritan pharmacies? See the answer to this and other common questions: Frequent Questions About Our Pharmacies Question: 1. Do You Have to be a Samaritan Patient to Use a Samaritan Pharmacy? Answer: Anyone can access services through Samaritan Pharmacy. It does not matter where your medical care is received, who your doctor is or what insurance you have. If you have questions about insurance or you are ready to make the switch, Samaritan Pharmacy staff are happy to assist. Question:2. Is the On-campus Samaritan Pharmacy at OSU Only for Oregon State Students, Staff or Faculty? Answer: The OSU location is open to the public and has convenient dedicated parking. This newer pharmacy location fills a much-needed service for the campus community and for the public, too. Question:3. Is It Hard to Switch Pharmacies? Answer: Samaritan Pharmacy staff make switching pharmacies easy. Simply call your preferred Samaritan Pharmacy location and a staff member will help you. Question:4. How Fast /Easy Is It to Fill & Pick up My Prescriptions? Answer: Trusting that your pharmacy of choice will have your prescription in a timely manner is important. Samaritan Pharmacy is proud to offer consistent and reliable hours the public can count on at each location. There are many convenient ways to get your medications — walk-in, drive-up, curbside, courier or mail delivery (free within Oregon). Requesting refills is simple, too, by going online through MyChart, by phone or in person. You can also sign up to get text alerts to know when your prescription is ready. Question:5. What Do Samaritan Pharmacies Offer Besides Prescription Medications? Answer: Samaritan Pharmacy also offers over-the-counter medications, vaccinations, medication therapy management, sharps disposal and drug take-back bins. Our pharmacies also offer translation services for prescription labels. Samaritan pharmacists can prescribe birth control, naloxone and emergency insulin refills. If you need help with prescription costs, Samaritan’s medication assistance program may be able to help. Growing to Serve Our Communities Samaritan has opened three more retail pharmacies to better serve our local communities. In 2023 Samaritan launched two new pharmacies. In Corvallis, Samaritan Pharmacy – 30th Street opened on the campus of Oregon State University. In Sweet Home, Samaritan Pharmacy – Sweet Home opened as part of the new Sweet Home Medical Center. In early in 2025, Samaritan newest pharmacy — and first coast location Samaritan Pharmacy – Lincoln City, opened on the campus of Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital.
