Open Letter to the Community: Return of Labor & Delivery Services in Lebanon April 27, 2026 Samaritan CEO Marty Cahill Shares Update & Welcomes Families Back To our community, I want to share an important update about labor and delivery services in Lebanon and to do so directly. The Girod Birth Center at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital reopened on Monday, April 27. OB-GYN services at Samaritan Health Clinic – Lebanon have also resumed. We now have the clinical support in place to safely care for patients, and we’ll continue building this team to meet the long-term needs of the community. I also want to acknowledge what the past few months have been like. Pausing these services was not an easy decision, and I know it created uncertainty and frustration for many families. We heard that, and we understand how important it is to have care close to home, especially for something as personal as bringing a child into the world. We took the time to make sure we could safely reopen and do this the right way. That meant careful planning, coordination across our system and a strong focus on patient safety at every step. During the pause, teams across the valley region worked together to ensure families continued to receive care. At the same time, our Lebanon team stayed focused on preparing for a safe return. That collective effort made this reopening possible. Patients who previously received OB-GYN care in the area are being contacted with information on how to reestablish care locally. We were also able to make updates to the birth center, including new flooring and paint, thanks to the support of the Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation and its generous donors. We’ll be hosting a community open house on Friday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s an opportunity to see the updated space, meet members of the care team and reconnect. Thank you for your patience, your feedback and the trust you place in us. We’re glad to welcome families back and remain committed to providing safe, reliable care here in Lebanon. With gratitude, Marty Cahill President & CEO Samaritan Health Services
