Clinic Remodel to Be Celebrated at Open House

From family dining restaurant to medical clinic, the building at 705 SW Coast Highway in Newport has had many different uses over the years. With a recently completed and extensive remodel, it will soon be home to Samaritan Health Services’ urgent care and occupational medicine clinics on the coast.

On Thursday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 6 p.m., the public is invited to get a sneak peek inside the building before the two clinics open to patients the following week. The open house will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce at 5:15 p.m. followed by self-guided tours inside the 4,650-square-foot facility.

Because of COVID-19 precautions, food and beverages won’t be served, and everyone is asked to wear an appropriate facemask and to respect social distancing.

Employers Invited to Learn About Occupational Medicine Services

Business owners and managers are especially encouraged to attend for the opportunity to meet with Nurse Practitioner Michaela Best and learn about the diverse services for employers offered at Samaritan Medical Group Occupational Medicine – Newport. This clinic will be closed during the move on Friday, Dec. 3, and will reopen for business in its new location on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 8 a.m.

Urgent Care to Close During Move

The other clinic in the building, Samaritan Medical Group Urgent Care – Newport, offers urgent medical care without an appointment, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate the move from old to new location, this walk-in clinic will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 6. For emergency medical needs, the Emergency Department at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital is always open.
