Celebrate Cancer Survivors & Loved Ones at In-person Events

Battling cancer — whether personally facing the diagnosis or supporting a loved one — is an emotional and tiring journey. Often it creates a close-knit community among those who have experienced it.

National Cancer Survivors Day, on the first Sunday in June, is globally recognized and celebrates the cancer community. This day honors the milestones of those touched by cancer and the individuals who cared for and supported them along the way.

Staff with the Samaritan Cancer Program are thrilled to announce they are once again hosting two events in honor of cancer survivors and loved ones.

One Celebration. Two Locations to Choose From.

Join staff from the Samaritan Cancer Program on Sunday, June 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. — in the valley or on the coast.

  • Corvallis (new location): Pastega Regional Cancer Center on the campus of Good Samaritan Regional Cancer Center, 441 NW Elks Drive
  • Newport: Center for Health Education across from Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, 740 SW Ninth St.

Sunday, June 7, from 1 to 3 p.m.

  • 1 p.m. — Doors open. Enjoy good food, company and more
  • 1:45 p.m. — Listen to talks from the cancer care team and survivors
  • 2:15 p.m. — Explore community cancer resources
  • 3 p.m. — Program concludes

Both events are free. Guests will enjoy good food, art activities, mingling with community cancer resources and providers, talks from Samaritan’s cancer care team and fellow cancer survivors, plus more.

Registration is encouraged but not required, visit samhealth.org/CelebrateSurvivors or call the Samaritan Cancer Resource Center at 541-768-2171.
