Ambulatory Care Nursing Opportunities

Samaritan Health Services offers a rewarding opportunity for a nurse graduate interested in the nursing specialty of ambulatory care. The ambulatory care internship is an education and training program designed to bridge the gap between the academic and service setting. It provides the necessary structure and support for a smooth transition into a profession focused on coordinated patient care across the healthcare continuum.

Program Details

Ambulatory Care interns will complete six months of comprehensive orientation and training in collaboration with the New Grad Transition to Practice program to meet AAACN Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse Residency Program criteria. The focused education and clinical experiences prepare the nurse to practice independently in various ambulatory care settings.

The internship education includes:

Partnering with a qualified preceptor or RN to gain the knowledge and learning experiences necessary to the ambulatory care RN practice.
Rotating between designated primary care, urgent care and specialty clinics to observe and practice the skills specific to the population being served.
Identifying opportunities to apply leadership skills and work collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
Opportunities to use critical reasoning and judgment to provide timely, safe and efficient access to appropriate patient care and treatment options.
Apply patient engagement strategies to improve quality outcomes.
