The Graduate Medical Education Department at Samaritan Health Services recognizes the importance of the well-being of all residents, fellows and faculty. Well-being encompasses physical, spiritual, emotional, social, environmental, financial and intellectual domains.

LIFE Curriculum

Counseling services and resources:

If you are battling fatigue, please remember that Samaritan has multiple resident only sleep rooms available:

  • Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, first floor: 2 surgery sleep rooms.
  • Ancillary building, second floor: 6 sleep rooms.

Financial counseling:

  • Principal Financial Group.
  • Cigna Employee Assistance.

Other resources:

  • Samaritan’s COVID-19 Wellness Resources page for employees includes information on child care options, tips for leading through a crisis, sessions on mindfulness and meditation, and much more. 
  • The Employee Well-Being program provides education, support and resources that empower employees to develop and maintain healthy lifestyle habits. Employees who work at least 32 hours per month, including casual, are eligible for the Well-Being program of $300 a year, which can be applied to approved classes and passes, external gym benefit or SamFit gym benefit. 
  • Trainees will be allowed two four-hour half days per academic year to attend routine and preventative medical, dental and mental health care appointments only.
