Mobile MRI Expands Access to Services & Reduces Wait Times October 22, 2026 Patients waiting for MRI services will soon have access to additional imaging appointments as Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center brings a mobile MRI unit to the hospital campus. Good Sam has installed the mobile MRI with plans of seeing their first patients on Monday, Oct. 26. Currently the equipment is undergoing testing and network integration. The temporary service expansion will improve access to critical diagnostic imaging exams. MRI exams play an important role in diagnosing a wide range of conditions, including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, cancers and other complex medical concerns. As demand for advanced imaging continues to grow, wait times for appointments have increased. The addition of the mobile MRI will provide much-needed capacity to help patients receive care sooner. “Our goal is to ensure patients have timely access to the imaging services they need,” said Brandon Schmidgall, hospital administrator. “Adding this mobile MRI unit is an important step toward reducing wait times and addressing existing demand while continuing to provide high-quality care.” Samaritan leased the mobile unit to maintain MRI services at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital during the replacement process of their older MRI. The trailer has served the Lebanon community for the past four months while a new MRI system was installed and prepared for patient use. Patients may notice temporary changes in parking near the Neville Building while the unit is in operation. Anyone who requires accessible parking will continue to have appropriate accommodation. Patients with upcoming MRI appointments will receive scheduling information directly from their care teams. “Samaritan appreciates the community’s patience and support as it works to expand access to these important diagnostic services and reduce delays in care,” Schmidgall said.
