Lebanon Emergency Department Nurse Olivia Davis Recognized With DAISY Award June 2, 2026 Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital has partnered with The DAISY Foundation to recognize extraordinary nurses for the compassionate care they provide to patients and families every day. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. Olivia Davis, RN, is known for her calm presence, compassionate approach and commitment to both her patients and team in the Emergency Department at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. She has been with Samaritan since 2017, beginning her career in the Emergency Department at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center before transferring to Lebanon in March 2024. A Calming Presence in the Emergency Department She was nominated by a patient’s family member who was deeply impacted by Davis’s empathy and exceptional care during a challenging visit. The nominator stated: “I would like to nominate Oliva Davis, RN, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding compassion, professionalism and exceptional patient care. My mother can be a very difficult patient, and her hospital visit was challenging for everyone involved. Despite this, Olivia consistently showed incredible patience, empathy and respect. She never treated my mother as a burden or a problem, but instead as a person who deserved dignity, understanding and kindness. “Olivia took the time to listen, explain care clearly and respond thoughtfully to my mother — even when emotions were high. She remained calm, gentle and compassionate at all times, creating a sense of trust and comfort not only for my mother, but for our entire family. “Her ability to provide such excellent clinical care truly set her apart and helped my mother feel welcomed and not judged. It is rare to see a nurse who combines skill with such genuine humanity. Olivia’s compassion made a difficult situation manageable and left a lasting impression on our family. She represents the very best of nursing and embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for. We are deeply grateful for Olivia and the exceptional care she provided.” A Valued Member of the Care Team Davis’s supervisor Trish Weber describes her as a kind and compassionate nurse who brings both clinical excellence and a strong sense of teamwork to their department. “Olivia is the kind of nurse you would want caring for your own family and working alongside you on the toughest days,” Weber said. “She consistently demonstrates patience, empathy and respect, while delivering excellent clinical care. Her calm, gentle presence at the bedside and the positive attitude she brings to our team make a meaningful difference every day.” A ceremony was held to honor Davis and the PRIDE — passion, respect, integrity, dedication and excellence — she demonstrates in her work. At the ceremony, Davis was celebrated by colleagues. She was presented with a certificate, DAISY pin and a beautiful Healer’s Touch statue created by an artist in Zimbabwe, which symbolizes the relationship between nurses, patients and families. Along with the public recognition, DAISY award winners receive financial discounts for nursing certification training, reduced tuition for continued education, conference scholarship opportunities and are eligible for the national DAISY Award. About The Daisy Foundation The DAISY Award was established by the family of J.
