Heart to Heart Fall/Winter 2025

In this issue of Samaritan Health Services’ Heart to Heart magazine, you’ll read three inspirational stories that touch on heart health, total joint replacement and giving back to the community.

First is the story of a Corvallis retiree who “works hard at staying alive” while facing numerous health challenges with optimism and gratitude. See page 2.

Another older Corvallis resident encourages readers who may have an interest in total joint surgery, which he undertook so he can once again “play this game of life and enjoy daily activities without any pain.” See page 4.

Finally, you can read the story of an Albany girl who was inspired by a young neighbor’s hospital experiences to create and donate gift bags for patients because “you don’t have to be a grown-up to make a difference.” Turn to page 13.

Whether young, old or in between, you will find many other stories of interest in this issue of Heart to Heart:

  • Opening soon in Newport: Samaritan Treatment & Recovery Services center.
  • Linn County gets a boost in behavioral health services.
  • How oral chemotherapy offers hope and healing at home.
  • Planning in advance for your end-of-life care.
  • The importance of HPV vaccine for your preteen.
