Samaritan Welcomes Maureen English-Cremeans, FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner Maureen English-Cremeans has joined Samaritan Palliative Care, a multidisciplinary team that supports patients with serious illnesses.

English-Cremeans earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She earned a master’s degree in nursing at Frontier Nursing University and completed a fellowship in palliative care at Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Bronx).

English-Cremeans was inspired to become a palliative medicine nurse practitioner because she enjoys caring for people.

“I wanted my focus to be helping patients dealing with serious illness to have the best possible quality of life,” she said. “I also love science and problem solving.”

English-Cremeans works with patients and their families to identify their health care goals.

“By determining what matters most to them at this time, we can use those values to develop a care plan,” she said.

In her free time, English-Cremeans enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, camping and walking her dog. She values friendship, nature and the sense of inner peace.

“I moved here from West Virginia where I learned to play old time fiddle and banjo,” she said. “I’m hoping to find some of that in the Corvallis area.”

English-Cremeans can be reached at Samaritan Palliative Care at 541-812-5020.
