Samaritan Welcomes Lucien Megna, MD January 18, 2022 Lucien Megna, MD, has joined Samaritan Health Services as director of the Rural Family Medicine Program. He oversees the residency program and also sees patients at Samaritan Health Center – Newport. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Washington and Lee University and a medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in general surgery at St. Francis Medical Center and in family medicine and public health at the University of Florida Health Science Center – Jacksonville. Dr. Megna chose Samaritan for its dedication to patient care and its medical education program. “An academic environment produces confident and capable people and physicians,” he said. He became a doctor to promote healthy lifestyles and improve the quality of life for patients. “I value health and happiness,” he said. Previously, Dr. Megna was team physician for the Tri-City Americans hockey club and the Tri-City Fever arena football team. He has also been active with state and national medical associations. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kite boarding, pickleball, playing golf, cycling, traveling and reading. He is the father of two “fantastic kids.” Dr. Megna specializes in joint injections, lesion removals, casting and splinting, nutrition and exercise therapy.
