Samaritan Welcomes Karlei Forrester, PA-C

Physician Assistant Karlei Drahn has joined Samaritan Cardiology – Corvallis. She provides primary care for people of all ages.

She earned a bachelor’s degree at Oregon State University and a master’s degree at University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. She earned a master’s in physician assistant studies at Oregon Health & Science University.

Forrester was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by her aunt, who is a physician.

“I used to spend summers visiting her and she would take me to work with her,” she recalled. “That’s where I was introduced to the profession.”

In her practice, she uses a patient-centered approach.

“I develop a relationship with my patients based on trust and honesty,” she said. “Together, we focus on how to improve health outcomes and reach their health goals.”

Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Forrester worked for Samaritan in cardiac rehabilitation as an exercise specialist case manager.

“This is my home,” she said. “I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.”

In her free time, Forrester enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her Australian shepherd dog, camping, hiking and doing outdoor activities with her husband.

“We both went to OSU and we love to go to football games,” she said.

She is accepting new patients and can be reached at Samaritan Cardiology – Corvallis at 541-768-5205.
